silhouette, stencil

she drew herself

in chalk and in charm

she kept me, at length,

in order to do no harm

i watched her dust off

her dress and her dmz

she punctured the markings

as the stenciled silhouette waved

moonlight refusing to illuminate

(leaves or lovers)

and defy its natural order

she waits

for sun and son

she keeps me, nightly

in order to do no harm
